Having trouble activating your Secret Garden access? Get help, below.

Secret Garden is an exclusive online space for Gardeners’ World Magazine subscribers, packed with extra features, videos, offers and competitions.


To access Secret Garden you’ll need a website account and an active Gardeners’ World Magazine print subscription. For help in activating your access, please check the information below.

I’m being presented with an error message

If you’re being presented with a message that there’s a problem with your details, there could be several causes. Please check the possible reasons outlined below.


My subscription was a gift

If you were gifted a subscription and can’t activate your Secret Garden access, it could be that the surname of the person who gifted you your subscription is stored on your account, rather than your own. Please contact our subscriber customer service team to update the surname on your subscription account.

Have you got more than one website login?

Your Secret Garden access can only be activated against one website account. If you’re getting a message that there’s a problem with your details it could be that you’ve already activated your Secret Garden access against another website login, using a different / old email address.

If you think you’ve previously activated Secret Garden access, please click ‘Sign out’, top right-hand corner of the page, then click ‘Sign in’ to log in with your alternative email address and password.

Has your subscription previously lapsed and you’ve subsequently subscribed again?

If you’ve had a subscription that lapsed and you subscribed again later, your subscription number might have changed.


Please ensure the subscription number stored on your website account is up to date, by the following steps:

  • Visit the ‘settings’ area of, by clicking your username, top right-hand corner of the page
  • In the ‘Subscription’ area, remove the subscriber number and click ‘Save changes’.
  • Log out of and log back in again
  • Visit and input your new subscriber number and click ‘Enter Secret Garden’ to activate your new number.
