Daylilies, Hemerocallis, bear masses of elegant blooms for weeks on end, although individual flowers last only one day. They’re ideal for growing in a sunny border and make excellent cut flowers (the developing flower buds are just as attractive as the blooms themselves). In milder regions their strap-like foliage is evergreen, which is excellent for hiding unsightly spring bulbs after they have flowered.
