Hemerocallis ‘Shutterbug’ is gorgeous daylily, bearing large blooms with the palest yellow-green petals with a deep maroon eyezone and lime-green throat. It’s a great choice for a tropical-themed ornamental border, and looks fabulous in a pot.
Its fragrant blooms appear for weeks on end, although individual flowers last only one day. Despite the short-lived bloom-time, it’s perfect for using as a cut flower as the flower buds are just as interesting as the bloom themselves. In milder regions its strap-like foliage is evergreen, which is excellent for hiding unsightly spring bulbs after they have flowered.
For best results grow Hemerocallis ‘Shutterbug’ in well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Cut back after flowering. Divide clumps every three to five years.
