Heucheras are attractive, mound-forming plants, perfect for growing in light shade. There are many heuchera cultivars to choose from, coming in a range of unusual colours and forms.

Heuchera 'Chocolate Ruffles' has exquisite chocolate coloured leaves with a rich burgundy underside. In summer masses of creamy white flowers appear on tall stems. It's more drought tolerant than other heucheras, making it an ideal choice for growing in dry shade, such as beneath trees and shrubs.

Grow Heuchera 'Chocolate Ruffles' in partial shade towards the front of the border, or in containers to brighten up a shady spot, in moist but well-drained soil or compost. Trim away tired foliage in spring.
