Bearded irises are so-named after the 'beards' on each of the falls (lower petals) of the flowers. Amoena irises have white or tinted white standards (upper petals), with colored falls.

Iris 'Sonja's Selah' is a tall, bearded amoena iris, growing to a height of 100cm. It bears white standards and salmon-pink falls with a white rim. It's perfect for growing in a mixed herbaceous border or gravel garden, and makes an excellent cut flower.

For best results grow Iris Sonja's Selah' in well-drained soil in full sun, and mulch with well-rotted manure or garden compost annually.
