Phlox paniculata ‘Iris’

Perennial or border phlox, Phlox paniculata, is a tall-growing phlox native to the USA, typically with pink flowers. However there are many garden-worthy cultivars available in a range of heights and with different coloured flowers, making them a popular stalwart of the traditional border.

Perennial phlox is renowned for its colourful flowers with a sweet, honey-like fragrance. It’s an ideal choice for the middle of a border, and thrives in rich, moist soil in light shade.

Phlox paniculata ‘Iris’ bears large, red-purple flowers, which fade to a deep blue as they mature. It’s well suited to growing in a mixed herbaceous border, where it contrasts beautifully with other blues and purples.
