Native to the evergreen cloud forests from Mexico to North Guatemala, thyme-leaved fuchsia, Fuchsia thymifolia has a compact habit, bearing miniature dark pink fuchsia flowers, in contrast with glossy dark green foliage. Flowering continuously from early spring until the first frosts, it’s a great choice for a partially shaded corner in a small garden.

Grow Fuchsia thymifolia in moist but well-drained soil in partial to full shade. Not fully hardy, protect in winter or grow in a container which you can move indoors in autumn. Take cuttings in summer to insure against losses, just in case.
