Pimpinella is an unusual plant, bearing flat, airy heads of tiny flowers, not dissimilar to to cow parsley or Queen Anne's lace. It's ideal for growing in wild, informal or cottage garden scheme, where the plants can drift through borders along with other tall perennials such as alliums and salvias.

Pimpinella major 'Rosea' is a pink-flowering variety. For best results grow it in full sun to partial shade, in well-drained soil. Divide congested plants in spring or autumn and leave seedheads in place to allow plants to naturalise throughout the garden.

The flowers of Pimpinella major 'Rosea' are extremely attractive to bees and butterflies.
