Schefflera rhododendrifolia is a hardy umbrella tree, native to the Himalayas. Growing to an eventual height of 10m, it forms attractive umbrella-like leaves on purple stems. From late summer and into autumn, cream flowers are produced, similar to those of fatsia. Panicles of black fruit appear in summer. It’s perfect for adding a touch of the exotic to your garden without the risk of losing it in winter.

Grow Schefflera rhododendrifolia in full sun or partial shade, in moist, well-drained soil that has has been improved with organic matter. A sheltered spot is best, and young plants will need some extra protection from frosts.
