Rhododendrons make up an incredibly diverse group of plants, originating from many parts of the Northern hemisphere with a large concentration in China and the Himalayas. These plants vary from tiny ground covering plants to species growing as understory plants in forests. Most flower in early spring, although some bear flowers for a brief period in autumn.
Rhododendron 'Horizon Monarch' is a beautiful variety with large yellow flowers, tinged with tones of sunset oranges and pinks. For best results, grow Rhododendron 'Horizon Monarch' in dappled to partial shade in moist but well-drained, acidic soil. Plants need minimal pruning and can be propagated by layering. Rhododendron 'Horizon Monarch' has been given the Royal Horticultural Society's prestigious Award of Garden Merit (AGM).
