A Yakushimanum hybrid, Rhododendron ‘Silver Jubilee’ is extremely hardy, and therefore perfect for growing in northerly regions. It has green-white flowers with a striking red throat and long white filaments, in contrast with dark green, glossy foliage. A compact variety, it’s ideal for growing in containers and small gardens.

Grow Rhododendron ‘Silver Jubilee’ in partial shade. Plant in humus-rich, moist but well-drained neutral to acidic soil (or peat-free ericaceous compost). Rhododendrons are shallow-rooted so take care not to plant too deeply. Mulch annually with a generous layer of leaf mould. There should be little or no need to prune.
