Unlike the common box, which is native to the British Isles, Buxus microphylla is an Asian species that comes in many different forms, each with varying abilities to tolerate frost. Buxus microphylla ‘Golden Triumph’ is one of the hardier cultivars, with slow growing, smaller leaves. New foliage is yellow, maturing to a yellowish green two-tone. It can be grown in full or part sun and enjoys moist, yet well drained soil.
