What is the Greenworks 24 V Cordless Series?

One interchangeable battery fits all with this extensive range of garden and DIY tools. Almost all the tools in the range are sold alone, meaning that the battery and charger need to be purchased separately. Although this bumps up the price, they're cheaper than other ranges in the test.

What tools are in the Greenworks 24 V Cordless Series?

There are 25 home and garden tools in the series including chainsaws, string trimmers, hedge trimmers and a blower. Power tools include drills, a circular saw and a jigsaw.

Is there a range of batteries available in the Greenworks 24 V Cordless Series?

Two 24 Volt lithium-ion batteries are available, 2Ah and 4 Ah and each has three indicator lights. There is one universal charger, which displays when it is charging and charged.

What are the tools in the Greenworks 24 V Cordless Series Like to use?

We tested the 24 V string trimmer and hedge trimmer set, which, uniquely in the range, comes with a battery and charger and the leaf blower, which came tool only. Batteries charged quickly and all the tools were light and very easy to use. Only the grass trimmer needed to be partly assembled before use.

The grass trimmer has a rotatable head for edging but the handle is small and was uncomfortable for some of our testers. The shaft extends and the line feeds automatically.

The hedge trimmer is light and versatile but has a handle-grip testers found insubstantial and it struggled with thicker, woody growth.

The leaf blower is comfortable and powerful with two speeds and the nozzle is small for more focussed blowing.

Who is the Greenworks 24 V Cordless Series most useful for?

These light, simple tools have good features and are easy to use making them ideal for smaller gardens and weekend or less able gardeners.

Is the Greenworks 24 V Cordless Series good value for money?

The tools we tested were very competitively priced – the string and hedge trimmer set including battery and charger is priced at £99.99 and the leaf blower, tool only is £59.99. An individual battery is priced from £54.99 and a charger from £34.99.

The tools are also easy to use, with good features and we think they're good value for money. Plus, with the battery and charger already in hand you’ll save money if you need other garden or DIY tools in the future.
