What are the Stihl ThermoGrip gloves like?

Made from thick PES knit with a heavy-duty, latex palm and fingers, these are like pulling on a pair of cosy, winter gloves. They fit well and are comfortable and soft and offer excellent warmth and water resistance in the dampest, coldest months (although the backs will get wet eventually). They are very chunky, so the snug warmth they provide in the coldest weather comes at the price of a lack of dexterity but given you may well have lost the feeling in your fingers with thinner gloves, it’s a small price to pay! The latex also gives very good grip, which does help. Elasticated wrists make them easy to get on and off and prevents soil or plant material falling into the gloves when you’re working. They come in small, medium, large and extra-large sizes.

Will the Stihl ThermoGrip gloves last?

Extra thick latex makes the fingers and palms of these gloves strong and snag free. The knitted back and cuffs is not as strong as other materials in the test, like leather but they suffered no snagging or tearing in our test and we think these gloves should last for a reasonably long time.

Are the Stihl ThermoGrip gloves good value for money?

At the lower end of the price range in our test these warm, chunky gloves are excellent value. Their thick knit and latex may limit their use to the winter months but for working in colder temperatures, these are ideal.

Who are the Stihl ThermoGrip gloves most useful for?

These are just the thing for working on freezing days, especially when doing cold jobs like pruning or weeding or planting in wet soil. A comprehensive range of sizes means there should be a pair to fit everyone.
