What are the main features of the Cobra GTRM34 electric lawn mower?
The Cobra mower is hand propelled with a 1300w engine and a rotary blade encased within a poly deck. It weighs 13 kg, has a carry handle on the top of the deck and a rear roller. It has a cutting width of 34cm and the choice of seven cutting heights, ranging from 20-70mm, which are adjusted by a single lever positioned on the deck. The handle has only one height but has cushioned padding for comfort and a cable relief clip which helps to keep the electric cable tucked out of the way and takes the weight of the cable, reducing any strain on it if it catches whilst you're mowing. The orange cable is 10m long. The fabric grass collecting bag has a capacity of 35 litres and a full indicator, so you know when it needs emptying.
What’s the Cobra GTRM34 electric lawn mower like to use?
Very little assembly is needed to get this mower up and running, you just need to attach the handle with its easy to use clips and finish fixing the grass collector, which is almost built and simply needs clipping into its frame. The illustrated instructions are clear but unfortunately a diagram was missing. There's a very helpful, easy to follow video guide on the Cobra website, which showed what to do but it did mean we had to remove the handle, add on the cable relief clip and then put it back on again. Thankfully, the handle is very easy to get on and off ,which also makes it great for storage. It folds down and in half so it can be tucked away under a shelf when not in use.
This is one of the heavier mowers we tested, which could make it tricky to lift up steps or onto a shelf for some, but it does feel balanced and easy to manoeuvre when mowing. It turns well and is easy to use, whether you're changing the height of cut or emptying the grass bag, which has a wide opening and a capacity of 35L; bigger than average for the size of mower. The wide choice of cutting height is useful but it doesn't cut to the edge like some, which would have been helpful and prevented the need to tidy up long edges after mowing.
Is the Cobra GTRM34 electric lawn mower easy to store?
The handle on this mower double folds easily, simply release the red clips halfway down the handle and at the base and it folds flat over the body of the mower taking up very little room in storage. The fabric grass bag also compacts down and can be stored out of the way on top of the mower.
Is the Cobra GTRM34 electric lawn mower good value for money?
This mower is easy to use and manoeuvre, cuts and picks up well and at just over £100, with a two year warranty, we think it's excellent value for money.
