What are the main features of the Gardena Comfort Hand Cylinder 400C push mower?

This mower has a non-stick coated, steel cylinder and a wide cutting width of 40 cm. It has an ergonomic handle that is comfortably padded and folds in half for storage and carrying with just a twist of a button. There are four heights of cut ranging from 12-42mm and these are adjusted with a simple lever and visible on a clear, easy to read scale. It has large wheels. There’s also a generous 49 litre grass box available but this needs to be purchased separately at extra cost. This mower is suitable for gardens up to 250m2.

What is the Gardena Comfort Hand Cylinder 400C push mower like to use?

There is more to assemble with this mower than with others in our test, mainly due to the folding handle, which needs to be put together but the instructions are clear and helpful, so it’s not difficult, just a little more time consuming. The handle is wide and comfortable and the large wheels help to make it easier to manoeuvre around the garden, but this mower is heavier than most. It has a comparatively wide cutting width so it makes quick work of small lawns and the height of cut is brilliantly easy to change. It’s also visible while you’re mowing.

The handle on this mower has been specifically designed to fold in half so it can be easily picked up and tucked away in the garage or shed.

Is the Gardena Comfort Hand Cylinder 400C push mower good value for money?

This is one of the more expensive mowers in our test and the grass collection bag does have to be bought separately, which potentially bumps up the price further.
However, this is a sturdy, efficient machine and it comes with a two-year warranty. We think it’s good value for money.
