How is the Husqvarna Automower ®315X installed?
Installation is not included in the cost of the mower and although you can do it yourself laying both the boundary and a guide wire (Something unique to Husqvarna brands) can be a big job so it’s worth asking a local Husqvarna dealer the cost of installing the mower for you.
The extra cost is dependent on the complexity of your lawn, but the dealer will assess the shape of the lawn, any obstacles such as trees and flower beds within it and then use a cable layer to bury the boundary and guide wires around the perimeter of the garden and back to the docking station.
The time this takes obviously depends on the size of the lawn but the cable layer does makes it incredibly quick.
If you do install it yourself the mower comes with a comprehensive instruction booklet and there is plenty of advice including how-to videos on line.
Is the Husqvarna Automower ®315X easy to programme?
The Automower keypad is straightforward and clear to use but it can also be programmed via an app on a smartphone, so there is no need to keep crouching over the key pad. The app also allows you to receive alarms and track the mower in case of theft and is compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Home so simple commands like start, stop and park can all be voice operated.
The height of cut is also easy to change with just a twist of a switch on the top of the mower.
How well does the Husqvarna Automower ®315X cut?
The Automower is quiet and unobtrusive and its three free-hanging blades cut well. It comes with a GPS Smart mowing system which maps the lawn before mowing and keeps track of where it has cut, so it copes particularly well with complicated lawn shapes. It copes well with narrow passages of 60cm and can also tackle slopes up to 40%. It cuts around raised beds by ‘bumping off’ them but edges were not as neat as others in these areas.
What Features does the Husqvarna Automower ®315X have?
All Husqvarna models (and other brands owned by Husqvarna, Flymo and Gardena) have a patented Guide wire as well as the boundary wire, which guides the mower quickly back to the docking station when its finished mowing or needs to recharge. It can also designate different start points for more efficient mowing of awkward shaped lawns.
It comes with LED headlights, which flash if a malfunction occurs and has a spiral cutting option great for cutting clumps of lusher, faster growth, such as beneath a trampoline.
A weather timer with three levels of sensitivity adjusts mowing to the rate of grass growth, increasing the cut when the grass is growing strongly and reducing it in hot or dry weather and at the end of the season and security features include PIN code operation, an alarm, a sticker to deter theft and GPS tracking. It comes with spare blades and available accessories include rough terrain wheels, a choice of top covers, housing for the docking station and a wall hanger.
Is the Husqvarna Automower ®315X good value for money
This premium model is packed with features and comes with a three year warranty if its professionally serviced or two if not. It is great value but does cover a smaller maximum area than others for the price.
