What are the main features of the Mountfield Electress 30Li Kit cordless mower?

The technology behind the battery makes this a mighty little mower: it’s powered by a Stiga E-Power 20V Lithium-ion battery, which maximises running times and keeps it energy-efficient. The battery is also interchangeable with the Mountfield 20V Freedom100 range, which includes a multi-tool, hedge trimmer, grass trimmer and blower. The polypropylene chassis is rust proof and makes it the lightest model we tested, and it has a brushless motor, which means it has a longer life span. It was also one of the quietest of the range we tested. It comes with a two year warranty.

What is the Mountfield Electress 30Li Kit cordless mower like to use?

Assembling both the handlebars and collection box is fiddly with this model, so an extra pair of hands is recommended. Once together though it’s sturdy and straightforward to use, featuring an on/off button and a pull trigger start/stop, which can only be operated on the right-hand side. It’s light and narrow so it’s easy to use, but bear in mind the 30cm cutting width doesn't cut to the edge, so achieving neat edges requires a bit of care - and possibly edging shears or a strimmer. There are also only three cutting heights, but the range is a reasonable 30-70cm. However, you do have to turn it on its side to adjust these settings, which is awkward, but once you’ve done that, it cuts well. The 30 litre plastic grass collector comes in three separate bits and is a bit awkward to clip together, but it was roomy enough to collect the grass from my 275 sqm, regularly-mown lawn in one go.

Is the Mountfield Electress 30Li Kit Cordless mower easy to store?

While the body of the mower is compact, the handles don’t have a quick release mechanism, so you have to unscrew it to fold it flat, which is a bit of a faff.

Is the Mountfield Electress 30Li Kit Cordless mower good value for money?

This is one of the cheapest models we tested, and considering it’s performance, charge time, the fact that the charger is included and the batteries are interchangeable with other tools in the Mountfield 20V Freedom100 range, it represents excellent value for money.
