This mains powered electric blower vac has three functions, blowing leaves, grass and light hedge clippings, vacuuming them up and shredding them into a large holding bag. We’ve classed it as single-use assembly, which means its attachments need changing for it to switch from blower to vacuum mode.
It has a 10m cable and comes with a handy shoulder strap.

It has a useful front support handle that helps to balance the machine well, particularly useful when vacuuming and the shoulder strap fitting is also comfortable and works well.
The machine feels sturdy and robust and is powerful with a blow speed of 310km/h. It has an adjustable vacuum speed setting, which is useful, but even on the lower setting blowing dry leaves into piles is hard to control – heavier, damp leaves are much easier. It’s also noisy, even on the lowest speed.
The Draper Garden Vacuum & Blower 81567 has a shredding ratio of 16:1 and this works well, producing a consistent output, suitable for use as compost, leaf mould and mulch. The collection bag has a 45-litre capacity so you need to empty it less than some models. The bag empties easily with just a pull of the zip.

This is a good, reliable blower vac but the stiff attaching and swapping of tubes makes it a better option for strong, fit gardeners. Also, it’s quite noisy so is not ideal for use in small, back-to-back and urban gardens.
