What is the Wilkinson Sword Stainless Steel Border Fork like?
An excellent example of a traditional border fork, this is a simple stainless steel fork with an ash handle, light in both colour and weight.
What’s it like to use the Wilkinson Sword Stainless Steel Border Fork?
This is a straightforward, traditional border fork, with no ergonomics or special features but it is a pleasure to use. It’s light, and has a smooth, ash handle that is finished well – all parts are well-sanded and won’t rub uncomfortably in use.
Is the Wilkinson Sword Stainless Steel Border Fork strong?
This doesn’t feel quite as robust as other forks in our test, but it’s still very strong. It has two smooth, countersunk rivets in the socket and roundhead rivets in the base of the handle and the handle itself. It had no loose components or bending on test. The socket comes a third of the way up the handle and the tines are well-spaced and strong.
How does the Wilkinson Sword Stainless Steel Border Fork perform?
This is a pleasure to use. It pushes into the soil with little resistance and picks up a fair amount, although it does struggle a little with finer soil and compost. It’s also good at breaking up clods. This is a simple, good all-rounder.
Is the Wilkinson Sword Stainless Steel Border Fork good value?
With its 10-year warranty and low price, we think this is good value. It’s a simple, efficient, easy to use border fork.
