Flowers are, of course, ephemeral but it is possible to preserve them. Although this is usually achieved by pressing or drying, another method is to encase them with resin.

Botanic Isles is a small jewellery business owned by Scottish designer, Laura Cooke, which specialises in handmade botanical jewellery. Each piece uses responsibly sourced, hand-picked Scottish wild flowers preserved in non-toxic, environmentally friendly resin. Chains and earring findings are sterling silver or gold-fill if gold coloured. Each item is hallmarked and comes in luxury packaging with gift bag and botanical information card detailing what the flower symbolises, where it was picked, the date it was picked and date of preservation.

Botanic Isles are offering six lucky winners the chance to win a collection of Scottish wild flower jewellery, each worth £62.50 in total. Each collection contains a sterling silver buttercup necklace on 18″ chain and a pair of 12.5 mm buttercup drop earrings in sterling silver. The golden buttercups preserved in resin, were picked from the St Andrews shoreline, so you can enjoy a tiny piece of Scotland wherever you go.
