Iris danfordiae is just one species in the Reticulata Group of irises, and a particularly memorable one for its bright sunny colouring. The vivid yellow blooms appear close to the ground very early in the year, as early as February in a mild year, making an eye-catching patch of golden yellow to brighten the short days.

Grow Iris danfordiae in moist but well-drained soil in full sun, at the front of a sunny border. It's an excellent choice for growing in spring container displays.
