Californian Lilac is one of the hardiest and easiest to grow of the ceanothus family. It has a naturally compact habit, and it has been trained onto a trellis making it perfect for growing in a pot if you have limited space.
This is the first bush cherry, as opposed to a tree, so forms a nice neat clump of many fruiting branches right from the base - and as a result does not get too tall, and makes picking really easy - as well as netting from pesky birds.
Marvellous flower-heads with uniquely shaded petals grow in abundance from the healthy plants of Geum ‘Orange Pumpkin’. These provide a show of double ruffled pom-poms all summer long, in an orange shade that almost makes them too hot to handle!
