Find the apples replaced for shimmering baubles along the apple pergola walk. Visit later in the winter to find swathes of snowdrops decorating the gardens and grounds.

Capel Manor Gardens

Relish the beauty of a garden in winter at Capel Manor Gardens. Colour is provided by Hellebores and Ornamental Quince, whilst Sarcococca and Witch Hazels provide flowers and fragrance. Nymans

Step into the world of Beatrix Potters’ beloved story of The Tailor of Gloucester at Nymans. Enjoy installations inspired by the festive tale, dotted around the garden, and search for the items to complete the story. If the weather is a little chilly, you can head inside and cosy up in the ‘story corner’, where the indoor atmosphere is set by gently twinkling lights. Find the heather garden putting on a colourful winter display, whilst late-flowering salvias will be in bloom until first frosts. Paxton House

Celebrate Christmas at Paxton House. On the weekend of the 3^rd and 4^th December, this elegant Georgian home will be filled with stalls of local artists and makers from the local area and beyond. Enjoy a walk from Paxton House down to the River Tweed on a crisp winter's day. The paths at Paxton meander between shady woodlands, ravines, and specimen trees.
