Hi Nannyann, sometimes celeriac does develop holes which aren't because it's been eaten - can you post a picture so we can have a look and try to diagnose? If you have a picture of them on your computer you can click on the little green tree above the box where you type your reply and it'll tell you what to do. 
By the way, it doesn't matter 'cos you're a newbie, but it's considered a bit rude to type your post all in capital letters as it infers that you're shouting at us - which we know you're not
