We will be going to Gardeners' World Live for the first time next year and wondered if anyone had any suggestions on hotels as we are unfamiliar with the area, we will be driving and not to worried about being close but a nice hotel or B&B would be good.

Not sure if this is the right place to ask about this!

I have no idea where Gardener's World is held, but I have used airbnb, in London; you stay in people's homes and I really enjoyed it.

Artjak - it's held at the NEC in Birmingham, located not far off the m40 I believe.

Stephen - I believe there are some hotels actually connected to the NEC, whether or not they'll be a sensible amount of money who knows, I think one may be a travelodge  . What day are you going, I may see you there

We swear by trip advisor for places to stay and eat for anywhere we are unfamiliar with - people power !

Hi Ryan, we are arriving in Birmingham on Thursday and going to the show on Friday and then returning home Saturday morning, then are you going.

Hi Chicky

I will have a look, what do you think i should put in  on the search "NEC" or is there a post code?

I would google the NEC postcode, then you can search within a 5 or 10 mile radius

A great show , I have been several times over the years would really recommend it

Last time I went it was combined with The Good Food Show , a long day if you are to do it justice

It is close to Birmingham Airport so there are lots of a Hotels and a really good train link to the centre of Birmingham  , also huge car parks

You are wise to stop over. We live in Lancashire and have travelled down the M6 on previous years to the show. It normally takes about 2 hours.

It all came unstuck in 2012 when there was an accident which caused a massive tailback. We ended up arriving at 2pm, instead of a planned 1100am, had to get lunch quickly then dashed around the show in 2 hours or so before driving back home - a disaster which has put us off going since.

It's a great show though and I'd love to get back there one year and staying over sounds like the way to go.

We love the Southport Flower Show.

Booking.com is also a useful link. I used it earlier this year to find a good well run, reasonably priced B&B for an overnight stay in Lincoln.

We would normally go to Chelsea which is relativity close but have found it so commercialised now and lost that small garden feel which we love so much,

Monty Don touched on the subject in the summer and i whole heartedly agreed with his views and thought we that we would have a change and see what the GW team have to offer, hope it's good.
