I grow Tasteless Burpee (or is it Tasty Burpless?) in the gh, in a biggish pot with a saucer underneath, and always water from the bottom. I tried one outside as well last year, and it did reasonably well, considering the lousy weather.
This year I'm going to try a mini- fruiting one, my sister recommended it but I can't remember which variety! One tip I tried was to only cut half the cucumber, the cut end sort of calluses over and the half still attached to the plant stays fresh and crunchy
