We are coming to the month of 'chelsea chop' to some plants. Experts out there...can you tell me which plants will benefit from the 'chelsea chop'.

I chop those sedums right back to ground almost.

    Phlox and penstemon.

It really depends where you are and how much growth the plants have put on. We are lucky to have a plant the size they crop down toimage

  • The only plants I have big enough to chop are the self sown margaritas image  but they are everywhereimage

  •  As I am opening my garden in June I shan't be chopping.

  • Me neither, my Open Day is 28th June, when is your's WWboy, and are you feeling under the same pressure as I am???image

    Geraniums if they have flowered.

  • I'd like a more comprehensive list of choppable plants - is there a rule of thumb? I don't want to hack all my flowers unnecessarily! image
