CHOISYA SUNDANCE IN SHADE?

I have a yellow-leaved choisya sundance, which I would like to grow in a west-facing spot, which because of a garden shed, doesnt get any direct sun at all.  Ive read that its good for brightening a dark corner, but  has anyone tried growing it in shade?

I had one growing very successfully in a bed on the north side of the house which gets sun befor 9am and after 3:30ish from mid April to early October.  It was bright and healthy and even flowered.  Unfortunately it was frozen to death in January 2009.  I've tried growing two new ones in slightly more sheltered spots but the last 2 winters have seen them off too.

As long as your shed doesn't make the chosen spot too dark, I think it's worth a try.  You could also consider painting the shed a pale colour to reflect available light.

I have one which was originally planted in full sun but it wasn't thriving.  I moved it to a shady spot which gets sun for a while in the middle of the day and it's much happier.  The flowers do brighten up the area where it's planted..

Mine is in shade and lights up a dark corner on dark winter days.
