Flowers for July?

Hey all, my garden has suffered this year from its usual lack of flower in the 'dead zone' after all my cottage hardies have finished but before my later stuff begins. Just wondered what y'all used, other than annuals, to keep the interest going when the geraniums pack up....

 I do know what you mean I have several dead zones now but they will be fine in 2 weeks when the sedum flowers turn pink. Dahlias are my saving grace , gaura are still going strong and lychnis are just going over now. I have cosmos still waiting to flower too.

The Ageratum ,Blue Salvias Victoria, Cosmos,Marguerites and Rudbeckias Prairie Sun are all looking good in my garden at the moment
