Just bought some seed and the packet says it's biennial? Not that it makes any difference I just didn't think it was! Can anyone confirm for me please.

It is a bit of a generalisation but for a plant to flower in spring it really needs to be sown now   to get to a decent size. So foxgloves, sweet williams, honesty, wallflowers, forget me nots all classed as biennial. Although some can also be called a perennial as they will continue to flower the following year.image

  • The first year the plant will develop leaves and roots, then flower and set seed the following year.

One thing I do know is that once you've got them you'll never be without them! I had some seeds 40 years ago and I've got hundreds of them coming up year after year. They will just drop seeds and keep growing  new plants.
