Hi

could anyone recommend grasses for screening. Must be non-invasive and at least 1.5m tall. they are to grow against a neighbours fence which is only 3ft high, and we would like more privacy.

many thanks, Caroline

Hiya caroline

Miscanthus grasses are excellent for screening.not evergreen though.  They grow fast. Cut them down in the spring and mine are already 5' tall ....will add more yet. They keep, their structure over winter.  Zebrinus is erect with yellow horizontal bands across its leaves. Variegatus, my favourite, is same habit but with bright, clean green and white leaves....slightly slightly at the top to look like a fountain.  Lovely.  There are others ....calamagrostis Karl,Foerster and Overdam, which is variegated, flower earlier than the miscanthus.
