Thanks, I'd hoped that maybe leaf cuttings would work. I'm afraid to dig it up even though I know they're tough as old boots! Maybe I'll do it next year.
Do it when the autumn comes, after the ground gets wet. Then you'll have new leaves by spring. cut all the old ones off. I've posted them with just a bit of root and all the leaves off and as far as I know they grow, Several forum members can confirm (or not).

Usual way is to take rooted pieces off.
