Sunflowers

zakzakzakzak Posts: 178

My daughter as this sunflower growing in her garden. It measures 95inches high. It has about 20 flower heads on it although they have yet to open. Does anyone know which variety this might be. The leaves seem unusual. Also is this a good height for this plant.image

  • Those look like normal leaves. Height very good. My sunflowers all have the same leaves and one also had about 20 heads. Surprised none of them have opened yet - is it very cold where you are? On mine the main head opened first followed by the side ones. Could be one of the giant varieties, for example, American giant or Sunshine giant but I wouldn't like to guess as there's loads of sunflower varieties.
