i have had to cut back my cotoneaster tree which is covered in berries.  Can I shread and compost the berries along with the branches and leaves?

  • Yes you can.  The worst that could happen is you may get a few cotoneaster seedlings growing where you use the compost, but most folk wouldn't consider that a problem as they can be tricky to germinate when you want them to! image

A trowel in the hand is worth a thousand lost under a bush.
  • Many thank Bob.  Looks like I will be shreading in the morning.

Why dont you pull off the berries, or some of them, and put in a bowl for the birds.
