Pampas grass

We inherited it with our new home and cut it right down around April to help its growth h& grow it did but never it never opened... could it be the variety as we dont know exactly what it is.  I will try & attach a picture...

I had a pampas grass that I grew from seed. It never flowered before it was too late for anything except being blown apart by winter gales. 

Having said that lots of my late flowering grasses are very late this year, I think they needed a bit more warmth. The pampas was dug up last year, there was never any time when it was pleasing to the eye.
