Hi, Im new to the forum but hope someone could advice me on the merits of shredding my rhodedendron branches. I aquired a shredder last year and have used it for shredding fruit tree prunings and part of a hawthorn hedge that had to be removed (the hedge nearly won). The magnifecent rhodies in my front garden had to be chopped back vigerously in one area and Im left with large and smaller branches full of leaves and buds.
I am hoping to use my shreddings on the garden at some point but someone told me that nothing grows under rhodedendrons due to chemicals they release into the soil. In which case can I use their shreddings as mulch on the garden and if not could they be used on the paths I want to make through my lawn and around raised beds.
