good that you caught it in time to report...wont have such an impact this time...hopefully..will read posts carefully,
by not responding maybe troll will get fed-up
The snow woke me...
Born in Staffordshire, lived abroad, returned to Cheshire, retired to Herefordshire...would like to live in Yorkshire...but all that snow!!!...
Have a good day everyone
Morning All I guess I'll join in , Born in Oxfordshire , raised in Lincolnshire followed by Sheffield and moved back to my Irish roots. Now staying put... I reckon.
The wind isn't howling this morning which is an improvement, channel 4 were blaming the Jet stream running south and not keeping the cold air further north where it belongs. I know I'm lucky having no snow but looks like frost will be back once it stops raining, my seedlings seem to be surviving and only a few camelia blossoms getting damaged. Such a disapointing start , I have to be thankful i'm not in the UK which is much much worse.
Good morning all Hope you're all safe and warm - no snow here - yet!!!
It's a different Troll/sock puppet - not the JC one, but I'm fairly certain he's been here before - a while back someone in Cornwall started posting as Verdun (when Verdun was known by another name) so I think it's probably the same PITA. He got terminated so hopefully the same will happen to Brumball, but it probably won't happen until after the weekend when the support team etc are back in the office.
Hopefully Brumbull will continue to post and we'll check carefully to see which one is which. After all, all we have to do is press 'Ignore' on Brumball's avatar, then we'll not see him will we
Good morning all! Born in South Wales, lived in South Wales, will prob die in South Wales. I love Wales but long for the drier weather further into the south east. The place I most love to escape to is the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset, because it looks like Wales (beautiful) and has lovely weather. However, houses in Wales are cheaper than the south of Engand and it is too late in life to take the hike upwards in price. So I holiday there as much as I can.
I am writing this laboriously with two small dogs on my lap and my laptop perched precariously on the arm of the sofa. If I put them off my lap they creep back on. Heigh ho...
Freezing cold here but still no snow. Seed planting today, I think, and perch them on the conservastory windowsill until they germinate. I also have a warm spot in the kitchen where they can spend the night when the conservatory window becomes a freezing radiator. I'm going to discipline myslef to planting only a few of each packet.
Quie right Dove - ignore!
Morning all. Sorry too busy to post lastnight- was organising trip to Antarctica with Sir Rannulph... I'm in west of Scotland -just south and a bit west of Glasgow in a nice little area bordering countryside but close to good amenities and top schools so I'm very lucky. Last house was semi rural and in a beautiful setting with wildlife , spring fed ponds and great views but I wasn't there long (long story!) My hillwalking gave me the chance to see wildlife and scenery at its best and I miss it beyond belief. Hope everyone is coping with the weather and staying warm and safe. Our beautiful Isle of Arran had power cuts yesterday so hope they are all back on soon. Nice to hear where everyone is from -it gives a nice community spirit which so many people don't seem to have these days. Soup- ham and lentil made, and a chicken carcass ready for stock. We don't all live on deep fried mars bars and irn bru up here you know!
Good thinking Dove.....doing that now...hope others do too.
Snow and more to come...it's the pesky wind which gets to me...
The garden ing Gallery should be worth looking at...
Should have said - Antarctica looking a better prospect for weather than here! Those crampon wearing blackbirds are knocking on the door asking to come in now.... The snow's making me stir crazy I think... 3 or 4 ins here now and it's on again. GG stay warm - dogs make good hot water bottles though don't they??
Just been out to clear paths and some patio so that birds can get their snacks. It's deeper than I thought .I'll do some seed today if anyone can lend me a snow plough to get to the shed..A question- what the %£*& do these trolls get out of it? Humans make me despair sometimes. There's good people on here- let's all ignore and/or report them and keep it that way.
Good morning. Nice to meet you. This seem like a very friendly MB with lots of keen gardeners...just what this body needs.
Unfortunately the closest I'll get to gardening today is staring moodily out of the window at the snow. BUT popping on here and looking through the threads has cheered me up no end.
Please excuse my spelling mistake! I mean seemS
Morning all, grey here this morning but sun trying to get through, fingers Xd!
SwissSue- Very good! Morning ChPBrain. Think we're all having to keep amused till Spring makes an appearance sometime around July. We need another 'face' for our posts - perhaps one with little icicles??
Aw....that made me smile SwissSue.
Goodmorning all or is it afternoon. Some of you must be very wicked in view of the unearthly hour you get up. Unlike me who has only just had breakfast.
GG, Dorset is a place where I feel I would like to live, if ever I felt the desire to move. Love everything about it. I used to look in the estate agents' windows but found that the price of property was the same, if not more, than where I live now. Too old in the tooth now.
That Bramball was really crafty wasn't he with his avatar. Had to check a couple of times. Never mind, ignored now.
Horrible day here, snow again, but shouldn't complain when I see what others are having to contend with.
Snowing heavily as I think it tis nearlyeverywherer. Trying to find an egg cosy pattern for Grangaughters easter pressie. - to knit, which is mostly what i will do today.
May post some garden gallery pics later
Woke up to snow - which meant the gardening course (tips on how to grow soft fruit) which I had been looking forward to all week was cancelled.
All very pretty, but snow is always a bit of a pain. Trying to work out what to do instead - might pot on some lavender plants that have been sitting in the GH all winter. And then curl up with a book.
I notice quotes from Forkers have appeared in this month's GW magazine - seemed strange to see nutcutlet and flowering rose's name in print !
