I have received my first copy of the '5 for £5' subscriber offer, and what I received is very different, and very inferior, to the Gardener's World magazine on sale in the shops, yet it is blatantly advertised in GW as a subscription to GW.  Afraid it's an example of "if an offer sounds too good to be true, it probably is".  Shame on you, GW

Lyn

Not sure what you mean there! I always have this on subs its exactly the same. With the added bonus of subs discounts.

Would it not be better to complain to the magazine instead of on the open forum.

I used to subscribe and now I still buy the GW I find it to be great value and keep issues to refer back too find it hard to throw out the great articles if I must I give them to the GP so I can still browse them in the wating room

I've taken up the offer of 3 issues of Gardens illustrated for £3 and its the full proper version of magazine, no problems

I have been taking the GW weekly from my newsagent for at least 25 years, and have watched it grow from a newspaper type seedling, to the magnificent glossy mag we have to-day, and long may it continue. (Wouldn;t know about subscriptions though)

Have to agree totally  with Lyn. My subscribers magazine is the same as the normal one but with extra discounts and offers so not sure why you're  finding something different with yours.

I'm a subscriber to the mag, mine is always fine and looks the same as the one in the shops.

Appears the same to me but with the extra subscriber page?

No probs with my mag, look forward to getting it through the door early.

I've subscribed for 7 yrs and happy with mine

Im happy too its the same mag with bonus bits for subscribers.

Fairygirl

Mmmmm...strange don't you think? We're all happy.....

I subscribed to the 5 for £5 and can confirm it's identical to the newsagent's copy but with extra pages with subscriber discounts....

Also the magazine is dispatched at the end of the month, so if this is something you've received in the last couple of days,  I'm sure it's nothing to do with the mag itself.

Could you possible have misinterpreted something else for GW?

Strange that Square Mary hasn't returned. Perhaps she's finally got her complete mag and is too busy catching up.

Hello everyone, thank you very much for all the replies.  I'm new to forums and have been out gardening in the glorious weather!  Sent an email to GW and received a lovely, very prompt and very full reply outlining in detail the many differences between the subscriber mag and the off-the-shelf version.  Much reassured that we subscribers are getting more, not less, than the off-the-shelf version and looking forward to making the best of all the offers. Full marks to GW, nice to be able to say I am wrong and great to hear how much you all enjoy the mag too.  Happy gardening
