A friend gave me some alpine strawberries some years ago and they keep on growing each year, lovely, although very small they outshine any other for flavour, I would recommend them also for the lovely deep pink flowers.

I love alpine/wild strawberries. The gardeners grow them in Raymond Blanc's kitchen garden for his restaurant Le Manoir aux quat'saisons. I wanted to grow them every since my gram told me about how she used to go pick them as a girl. They are fantastically tough. Mine grow in planter between a fence and a wall. I'm sure they would fruit better in full sun on a free draining chalk hill But we get a mouthful a day through the summer.

not got any pink flowers though
