Talkback: Growing and harvesting broad beans - Page 2

Just a bit of patience required Harry. The beans will start to form at the base of the main shoots where your flowers have fallen off. When this happens, nip off the top 3" of the plant to concentrate the growing of the pods if you have not already done so. No blackfly in Dundee yet but there is chocolate spot probably due to all the rain!

Back to empty pods....some have 7/8 beans, some 2/3 others 5/6, a few none...why? I'm in Aberdeen
