I have had a busy morning tidying the garden, I am very excited as 4 of the hard wood cuttings that I took last winter have rooted, so I have 2 new roses and 2 extra cornus

Went out for a drive with hubby to escape the house for a bit and saw a goshawk !!! It was swooping really low up the lane so we were able to get a good look at it. Made my day .

Back on couch now - don't even fancy cake

Afternoon lovelies! Having a great day pottering about the garden, doing odd jobs and tidying up/away. Unzipped my plastic greenhouse earlier, and popped my head in! That thing keeps in heat!!!! It was hotter in there than inside the house! Think I'll move in there later on in the year!

I did the collecting of apples-surely that is enough?-there are still plenty on the tree but freezer space is tight-there are also frozen blackberry/apple crumbles-I think we will be ok for when war breaks out

Fancy seeing a goshawk, they are quite rare I understand. We have a few birds of prey in our area, kestrels, peregrine and now we have buzzards, but not goshawks, that I know of.I'm very envious,I love raptors. Red Kites have been spotted near Sleaford, which is about 25 miles from us, so they are slowly moving into the area.

Chris - I've now discovered it wasn't a goshawk. It wasn't a kestrel or peregrine either, it was too big. On the bird of prey identifier now . Thought it was to good to be true, they are quite rare.
