just found this quote...

Never cut a tree down in the wintertime. Never make a negative decision in the low time. Never make your most important decisions when you are in your worst moods. Wait. Be patient. The storm will pass. The spring will come.

Hmmm.....

What a lovely thread! Not been on for a while, as have a new man in my life! And as the garden far too wet to go nr, have been trying to get EVERYTHING in house re-organised in time for better weather??!! Don,t want to waste a minuteof sun if it ever arrives. So nice to see familiar names again, feel as if I know you all. Dove, it was a lovely idea, wish i'd been back on sooner. I see the same people lowering the tone again;)  you know who you are! It really seems thewomen send loving inspiration, whilst the men give a good laugh! Both often in short supply at this time of year. So, thanks, Dove, for starting it,and to everyone else for keeping it going. I have neither inspiration nor laughs to offer yet, but I can tell youall that my new man understands me completely. So far, he has bought me such things as; a new spade, 100 ltrs perlite, a plum tree, a 1921 copy of Mrs Beeton's Household Management, a Pressure cooker to save me tons of time making those winter stews and soups, 10 bags compost, amongst loads of other things ( including a new handle for my toilet!). And he is sorting out my business paperwork and building my website, and administrating my fb page. And also, he can eat all the veg I grow so I don' t have to give it all away! ( I hate most veg!) Now I can grow the strange veg i,'ve wanted to try! My boys love him, my dog loves him, and he knows he will never see me till midnight in summer. And he listens when all I can think of is garden plans, plants, etc. Then buys the little things that help the plans. And his Dad is going to teach me to weld so I can make my own garden structures. And his dadis my dad's best friend, so we spent xmas away from home for first time in 8 yrs and it was the best EVER!

So, whilsr not quite inspirational, I now know it' s never too late for life to improve. This time 2 yrs ago was the worst of my life. Now it is the best I can remember since childhood. And my business is growing at a rate of knots. Still feel low due to weather, but this yr, I Know it will get better. So my words would be. Just wait and see. I have one lone snowdrop, where there were none, and my tree peony is 2 ft tall already. The pansys I grew from seed for my elderly neighbour are flowering through the battering winds, torrential downpours, hail and frost, and still turn their little faces to the sun any chance they get. So delicate, yet so tough. A little patch of brightness with a promise of more to come. So keep up your chins, all. The rain has to stop sometime, then we'll all be too busy to chat, share and laugh. We' ll be on quick to ask for garden help, and this potting shed will be empty for a while, until it's season comes around again.

Sorry, my posts are always late and long! Just had to share my good news after a few yrs from hell!
