Salvia cuttings

Hi,

I have a very small garden and house but I love the Salvia I planted this July and would like more this time next year. I have seen lot's of information about how easy it is to take cuttings but there is little info about what to do with those cuttings overwinter. I have no greenhouse or coldframe. Could anyone give any advice about how to protect the cuttings over winter i.e. a window sill in the house or buried int he soil under a cloche?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Hi!

You have not mentioned what varieties you have taken cuttings off!

I have found "Hot lips" needed no protection  and can be left in the soil overwinter as the last few ones here have been relatively mild!

Others I would not be sure about and keep them in the GH!

    Cheers!
