A great way to get a succession of blooms all spring is to plant up one large container with several layers of different bulbs. It also gives you maximum flower power in a small space. In this practical Gardeners' World video guide, Monty Don takes you through the process of creating a layered spring container display that starts with Iris reticulata in February, followed by Narcissus Tête-à-Tête in March, and then elegant long-stemmed purple tulips (Tulipa 'Negrita') in late April. He then tops off the pot with pansies, for colour through autumn and winter.
