Yarrows come in a variety of different colours, from white and yellow to shocking pink. Their flat flower heads contrast wonderfully with their dark green, feathery foliage, and make the perfect landing pad for insects. They're particularly attractive to hoverflies.

Achillea 'W. B. Childs' bears umbels of unusually large flowers, each one opening to a distinct daisy with a grey centre and gently recurved petals. It’s perfect for growing in an informal or cottage garden scheme, and makes an interesting cut flower. For best results, grow Achillea 'W. B. Childs' in full sun in well-drained soil. Cut back after flowering or leave to seed. Divide clumps every three to five years, and never allow plants to become waterlogged.
