Native to tropical regions of the United States, cross vine, Bignonia capreolata, is a self-clinging, evergreen vine typically grown under glass in temperate climates. Its leaves are glossy green to red-purple. Orange, yellow and red flowers may grow on new wood in summer.

For best results grow Bignonia capreolata under glass in well-drained, fertile soil in full sun to partial shade. Alternatively, grow it as an annual against a sheltered, sunny wall.
