Raised in New Zealand, Clematis 'Prince Charles' produces masses of mauve-blue flowers from mid-summer to early autumn. Its compact free-flowering habit makes it an excellent choice for growing in containers, or at the front of a border trained up an obelisk, in a small garden.

For best results grow Clematis 'Prince Charles' in moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. Falling into Pruning Group Three, pruning is easy. Simply cut stems back to the lowest pair of buds in February or March.
