Echium aculeatum, commonly known as lesser white bugloss, is one of the many beautiful and unique species endemic to the Canary Islands. It's a low-growing, bushy shrub with dome-shaped inflorescences of white flowers, set against narrow, silvery leaves.

Although very rarely seen in cultivation, it's a stunning, quite architectural plant if you can find it. For best results grow Echium aculeatum in full sun in well-drained soil. It's sensitive to frosts, so in the UK is best grown in a container that can be moved indoors over winter.
