Goat’s rue, Galega officinalis, is a bushy, clump forming herbaceous perennial with soft green, pinnate leaves. Racemes of pink or white, pea-like flowers appear from early summer to autumn. Perfect for a cottage garden scheme, it thrives on a variety of garden soils and is tolerant of clay. Its flowers are well-loved by bees.
Galega officinalis 'White Pagoda’ has beautiful pure white flowers. Grow in moist but well-drained soil in full sun to partial shade. May need staking. Cut back flowered stems to prevent self-seeding.
